Having just returned from another terrific Higher Things youth conference in St. Louis (more about that later), I finally had a chance to listen to Issues, Etc. version 2.0 on Pirate Christian Radio. All I can say is "Wow! What a beginning!" Todd hasn't lost a step in his stride and all the old A-list guests are popping in for the inaugural party. The clarity of the broadcast and speed of the site is terrific. In many ways, it's as though the show never left the air, but in some ways there are signs of its being better than ever. I suspect as Todd begins to realize the fullness of his liberty as a man who can say pretty much whatever he wants within the bounds of his ordination unbridled by synodical political correctness or even the FCC, we will hear Issues, Etc. rise to a new level of edginess.
Major kudos are in order to Chris Rosebrough, the president and founder of Pirate Christian Radio, who pulled all this together. Chris, a major thorn in the flesh to the purpose-driven crowd with his Extreme Theology and the infamous Little Leaven and its delightful Museum of Idolatry, is now pushing the envelope even further with this unique venture into web radio. Chris is planning to pack PCR with solid Lutheran material from all corners of Lutheranism. Rumor has it that the pirate flag will be flying over the Higher Things' "Amen" conference on the campus of Concordia-Irvine next week with some live broadcasting.
Just think. Less than four months ago we were all mopey and angry in the throes of Black Tuesday. Yet another example of the Divine Trickster making good out of disaster. We lose KFUO and get Issues, Etc. on steroids and more.
Amazing grace!
